Maruti Suzuki, India’s largest carmaker, has announced that it will be raising the prices of various models from January 2022.
In a letter to the National Stock Exchange, Maruti Suzuki said in a letter to the National Stock Exchange, “It is planned to increase the prices of various models in January 2022, as prices of various types of raw materials and spare parts have inevitably increased.”
Maruti Suzuki India’s vehicle production fell 3 percent last month. Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) today reported production of 1,45,560 units in November, compared to 1,50,221 units in November 2020. “The shortage of electronic components had a small impact on vehicle production,” the company noted.

MSI reported total passenger vehicle production last month at 1,42,025 units, up from 1,46,577 units in November 2020. Production of mini cars including the Alto and S-Presso models was 19,810 units last month, up from 24,336 units in the same month a year ago.
Similarly, MSI reported that production of compact cars including WagonR, Celerio, Ignis, Swift, Baleno, and Dzire fell to 74,283 units this year from 85,118 units in the previous year. However, production of utility vehicles such as the Gypsy, Ertiga, S-Cross, Vitara Brezza and XL6 increased to 35,590 units last month. Production of these cars in the same month of 2020 was 24,719 units.
Production of the Eeco van fell to 9,889 units last month from 11,212 units in November 2020, the company said. MSI reported production of its light commercial vehicle Super Carry model at 3,535 units last month, up from 3,644 units in the same month last year.
