Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) President and Sports Minister Nazmul Hasan Papon has commented that there is nothing in the investigation report of the World Cup failure.
The BCB president made such comments in front of the media after the 10th board meeting of the BCB on Saturday (March 9) when asked about the investigation report. At this time, he also took out a paper from his pocket.
The World Cup failure is no longer unknown to anyone. An inquiry committee headed by Enayet Hossain Siraj was formed to find the answer why only 2 wins in 9 matches. The investigating committee has spoken to the cricketers, coaching staff, and all the visiting staff.
However, this report was not published by BCB and even in the ninth board meeting, there was no discussion about it. BCB president himself saved this report. Some directors of BCB were unhappy with this.
Khaled Mahmud Sujan demanded that the report be made public. After such criticism, the BCB president himself read out this report at the board meeting today.
BCB president said, ‘Chairman has given me a report. There is no director stay away, no lines, no words. Such reports come every day. There is nothing in the report I was given. Today I read the entire report in front of Jalal bhai, Sujan and some directors. I said see what is there. They saw that there was nothing like that. If someone says anything beyond that, we have nothing to do.’
Although there is nothing in the report, the work has started as per the recommendations of the investigation committee, Papon said, ‘Already work is going on. You should understand. A lot of changes have been seen so far. Today I told everyone to give the report. And the two whose names came up, today I read them each line. The things that are being discussed are not mentioned in the report that was given to me.’
