Munich The massive quality problems with wind turbines give the Dax group Siemens Energy a record loss. In the past quarter, the company posted a loss of almost three billion euros due to provisions and other operating losses, as the Dax group announced on Monday.
The company’s supervisory board discussed the debacle in the renewable energy business on Friday and decided how to proceed. There should not be any new personal consequences. In recent years, the top management of the loss-making subsidiary Siemens Gamesa has already been replaced several times. The inspectors continue to trust Siemens Energy boss Christian Bruch to get the problems under control.
Even Bruch himself was confident despite the dramatic loss. “The strong performance of the other business areas gives me confidence in our company’s ability to make businesses profitable again,” he said.
