SPS Racing Acquires AM Racing, Solidifies Ford Partnership for 2026 NASCAR Season

A strategic acquisition poised to reshape the NASCAR landscape, Sigma Performance Services Racing (SPS Racing) has finalized a deal to acquire AM Racing, expanding its presence across multiple series including the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts series, the ARCA Menards Series, and a bolstered late model program.

This move signals a significant commitment to the future of SPS Racing and a firm alignment with Ford as one of the few remaining teams in the North American motorsports scene dedicated to the blue oval brand. The acquisition comes as other prominent teams, including Haas Factory Team and RSS Racing, have recently switched allegiances to Chevrolet.

“Bringing AM Racing into the SPS Racing family is about building on momentum and unlocking our next level potential,” stated a senior official with SPS Racing. “With Ford Racing behind us, we’re investing in people, data and performance to set us up to contend right away in 2026. We’re excited for what’s ahead.”

The integration of AM Racing is expected to provide SPS Racing with increased resources and a strengthened foundation for competition. According to a company release, the shared values of both organizations – a strong work ethic, integrity, and a dedication to developing racing talent – were key factors in the decision.

“AM Racing has always been about work ethic, integrity and giving racers a real shot to grow — and SPS Racing shares that DNA,” added a representative from AM Racing. “This transition ensures our mission continues — with renewed strength, expanded resources and a clear drive to win.”

While details regarding the 2026 driver lineup and car numbers remain undisclosed, AM Racing demonstrated considerable progress in the most recent season, reaching the playoffs with driver Harrison Burton. The team concluded the year with impressive results: two top-five finishes, ten top-ten finishes, and a 12th-place standing in the championship. However, Burton will not be returning to AM Racing, having signed with Sam Hunt Racing for the upcoming season and reuniting with Toyota.

The acquisition of AM Racing by SPS Racing represents a bold step toward increased competitiveness and a long-term commitment to Ford in the evolving world of NASCAR. The combined entity is poised to be a formidable contender as it prepares for the 2026 season and beyond.
