From January to October, 502,474 vehicles were sold in Russia, which is 60.8% less than last year, about this reported at the Association of European Businesses (AEB).
At the same time, at the end of October, the number of new cars and light commercial trucks sold in Russia amounted to 45,228, which is 62.8% less compared to the same indicators for October 2021. In September, 46,698 vehicles were sold, follows from the report for the previous month .
According to the results of the month, the domestic “AvtoVAZ”, which sold 19,145 Lada cars in October, which is 25% less compared to October last year. In total, since the beginning of 2022, the company has sold 142,910 vehicles (-51% compared to last year).
Lexus saw the biggest drop in sales again, by 99%, with only 9 cars sold in October 2022 (after 13 in September and 16 in August) compared to 1,358 cars in October last year. Also showed a significant drop Volvo, which was able to sell 7 cars in October (991 cars were sold last year). Sales of Land Rover decreased by 98% in October – 9 against 500 in October last year, Mitsubishi – 70 against 3016 and Toyota — 128 against 8516.
The automakers that showed strong growth in October were the Japanese Infiniti and Lifan (+51% and +50% respectively), while from January to October their sales decreased by 41% and 72% respectively. Since the beginning of the year, sales of new cars have grown only at the Chinese automaker Dongfeng Motor Corporation (DFM), which sold 1,350 vehicles during this period (+269%). In October, 95 cars were sold, which is 10% less compared to October last year.
