Singer Yevgeny Shapovalov passed away at the age of 54

Singer Yevgeny Shapovalov passed away tonight (Saturday) at the age of 54. Shapovalov was born in Baranovichi, Belarus, from the age of seven he was a vocalist in choirs and at the age of 17 he formed a rock and pop band with three other members.

In 1991, Shapovalov immigrated to Israel. In 1993, Shapovalov began studying at the Academy of Music at Tel Aviv University. That same year, Ethnix invited him to record the song “Jessica” with her. In 1995 he participated in the show “The Three Tenors” with Gabi Sadeh and Dudu Fischer. In May 1999 he was a guest at a Glikaria concert with the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra.

In 2001, Shapovalov released a joint show with Shlomit Aharon, called “Duet”, and in 2003, the album’s album Duet was released – live. That same year Shapovalov participated in a performance of songs from musicals. In 2007, Shapovalov appeared on a show called “The Three Tenors” with Wadislav Gurai and Felix Lifshitz. In 2008 he came out with a show called “Yevgeny Shapovalov 60/40: The State Celebrates 60 and Yevgeny Celebrates 40”. To date, Shapovlov has released more than ten discs.

Singer Kiki Rothstein paid tribute to Shapovalov and wrote: “With great pain and sorrow we say goodbye today to a friend, artist, and huge singer Yevgeny Shapovalov. It is not perceived, we will miss you very much.”
