Sitamarhi: Many criminal incidents have taken place in Sitamarhi district of Bihar on Tuesday i.e. today. Along with freeing an elderly man who was kidnapped from Pupri police station area, the police have also arrested four kidnappers. The Scorpio vehicle used for the kidnapping has been recovered. Police said that after the kidnapping, the criminals were demanding a ransom of Rs 5 lakh from his family. The police foiled the plans of the criminals by freeing the elderly man from the clutches of the kidnappers. Here, a young man has died in a collision between two bikes.

Kidnapped elderly recovered in just 10 hours

Pupri SDPO Atanu Dutta said that on the night of 24/25 March, a person Ramprasad Rai was kidnapped from Hirouli village of Pupri police station area. The criminals kidnapped him at gunpoint and fled. Later the criminals demanded a ransom of Rs 5 lakh from the family of Ramprasad Rai. As soon as information about this was received, the police came into action. A team of dynamic police officers was immediately formed. This team exposed the matter with the help of confidential information/technical assistance. Within just 10 hours the police had the kidnappers in their hands.

Ramprasad Rai was kept hostage

SDPO Dutta said that a raid was conducted at the house of Sushil Kumar of Gauda village of Nanpur police station area, where kidnapped Ramprasad Rai was kept hostage. Along with freeing Rai, Sushil was caught. Then on his notice Sudhir Kumar, Mukesh Yadav and driver Nitish Kumar involved in this case have been arrested. The Scorpios used in the incident have also been seized. Other criminals are also involved in this case, raids are being conducted to arrest them. Regarding the reasons behind the kidnapping, the SDPO said that it was said to be a money transaction. The family members of Ramprasad Rai say that the money has been cleared. Investigation is being done on the basis of all the facts.

One killed in road accident

Here, a young man died in a head-on collision between two bikes near Manpaur petrol pump on Bela-Parihar main road in Bela police station area. The deceased has been identified as Sajan Kumar, 21, son of Lalu Paswan of Sursand under Sursand police station area. It is told that Sajan was going from Bela towards Parihar. Another bike was coming from the opposite direction. Both the bikes collided near Manpaur petrol pump, in which Sajan got injured. He was admitted to CHC of Parihar. From there he was referred to Sitamarhi Sadar Hospital, where Sajan died during treatment. After the incident, the other bike rider fled from the spot. Police have seized the bike of the deceased from the spot.
