« Empowerment of women, factor of development and peace » is the theme chosen for the second edition of the 48 hours of the SOS Burkina association. These activities began this Saturday, November 25, 2023, in Ouagadougou. A way for the organizers to build peace in Faso through the empowerment of the other half of the sky.

« We cannot talk about peace without talking about women. Whether it’s at the market, whether it’s at home, it contributes to peace. It must have language to motivate the population. This is why the emphasis is on women. We think that the more she is equipped in peace communication, the more she can convey this message of peace”indicated the president of the association, Abdoul Phataaf Kabré.

Listening to him, these 48 hours of activities will fall within the framework of the health and training of IDP women, and their empowerment. “ These two days will be devoted to health, that is to say screenings and training on saponification.

We came to make donations here and it emerged that there is training that is not accessible to IDPs. These are therefore screenings which are sometimes not accessible to IDPs that we are going to give,” explained the president.

This is also the observation made by Fatimata Dicko alias Pendo, representative of these IDP women. For her, “Words cannot describe what I feel”. “ We have seen women die because they lack help. So, this really, really important opportunity. There was a need there.

Always people who are sick, especially when you see that it’s a child and the conditions in which they live, it’s really very touching and we often can’t even sleep”, said Lady Fatimata. .

The director of School C in Sondogo, Sylvie Briba, welcomed the choice made on the site. “This is a very good initiative, given that there were women who did not even know that screening could be done. It’s very good for your health”did she say.

The SOS Burkina association is a non-profit association created in November 2020. It is governed by the present statutes and positive rights of associations. She says her mission is to help vulnerable people.
