Chennai: (www.kvartha.com 12.01.2022) Actor Siddharth has apologized for the controversial remarks made by Indian badminton player Saina Nehwal in her tweet. Siddharth took to Twitter to apologize for not interpreting the words in the sense he intended. Siddharth said he could not justify the anger or reaction he felt when he saw the tweet.
‘Dear Saina, I apologize for the cruel joke I gave in response to your tweet days ago. Although I disagree with you on many things, I can not justify the anger or reaction I felt when I saw that tweet. That’s not to say that what needs to be explained is a joke. I apologize for not accepting that joke properly. The reference was not used in a bad sense, as others say. I stand by feminist ideas. I did not try to insult you through my tweet. I hope you will accept my apology and forget the controversy and move on. Truly you are my champion forever. Honestly ‘- Siddharth tweeted.
Siddharth was responding to Saina’s tweet in support of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Siddharth had a headache when he uttered a sexually explicit word in a note that retweeted Saina’s tweet in a sarcastic manner.
Subsequently, Saina’s reaction on the subject was that she liked Siddharth as an actor but the reference got worse. Saina, her husband and badminton player P Kashyap had come out against Siddharth’s remarks.
The National Commission for Women (NCW) had also come out against Siddharth for using sexually explicit language in a tweet against Saina. Notice was also sent against the star. Commission chair Rekha Sharma has asked Twitter to block Siddharth’s Twitter account. He also directed the Maharashtra DGP to investigate the matter and register a case.
