The Indian cricket team is touring South Africa to play 3 Tests and 3 ODIs. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced that KL Rahul has been appointed as the Vice-Captain of the Indian Test Cricket Team.
Earlier, Rohit Sharma was appointed as the vice-captain of the Indian Test team. Rahul has been named in the squad as he has been ruled out of the Test series due to injury.

Virat Kohli (capt), KL Rahul (vice-captain), Rahane, Pujara, Hanuma Vihari, Mayank Agarwal, Priyank Panjal, Shreyas Iyer, Ravichandran Ashwin, Rishabh Pund (wicket-keeper), Saha (wicket-keeper), Ishant , Bumra, Mohammad Siraj, Thakur, Umesh Yadav, Mohammad Shami and Jayant Yadav.
