York College Women’s swimming Dominates Day One of Spartan Splash

York College’s women’s swimming team is making waves, securing first place out of seven teams after a stellar performance on the opening day of the Spartan Splash on Friday. The Spartans accumulated 223 points, outpacing Messiah (219), Arcadia (152), Widener (139), and Elizabethtown (126) to establish a commanding lead in the competition.

The York College team demonstrated exceptional athleticism, winning all five events contested on Friday. This remarkable showing was fueled by individual brilliance and strong relay performances, setting the stage for a potentially championship-winning weekend.

Isabella Klemm Sets Records and Earns NCAA Recognition

Isabella Klemm had a particularly remarkable day, achieving an NCAA B Cut in the morning timed trials in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:03.11,meeting the provisional standard for national qualification. Klemm didn’t stop there, lowering two school records during the evening session. She recorded a split time of 24.30 in the 200 freestyle relay, eclipsing the previous record of 24.33 set by Maddy Mann in 2019.Klemm then went on to win the 200 IM, finishing with a record-breaking pace of 2:06.87.

Custis continued her winning streak, securing first place in the 50 free for the fourth time this season, clocking in at 24.45.
