New York has another spectacular new observation deck. High up in the “One Vanderbilt” skyscraper right next to the Grand Central train station in Manhattan, the “Summit” viewing platform opened on Thursday at a height of around 330 meters. On three floors, it offers a panoramic view of the metropolis, art installations, outdoor terraces and a glass elevator. Hundreds of visitors came to the opening.

The ticket prices start at around 40 dollars (about 35 euros), a corona vaccination must be proven for the visit. The 427 meter high office tower “One Vanderbilt” was completed last year for a construction cost of more than three billion dollars. The metropolis of New York already has several spectacular viewing platforms: On the Empire State Building, “One World Observatory” at One World Trade Center, “Top of the Rock” at Rockefeller Center and “The Edge” in the Hudson Yards district to the west of Manhattan.
