The highlights for the weekend are the State Championship return games in Costa Rica and Dourados

The sporting agenda of Mato Grosso do Sul for this Saturday (15) and Sunday (16) has events in the municipalities of Campo Grande, São Gabriel do Oeste, Coxim, Dourados, Costa Rica, Bodoquena and Sidrolândia. The highlights for the weekend are the second leg of the 2023 Sul-Mato-Grossense Football Championship.

Football State – The competition defines the finalists this Sunday (16) with both games at 3 pm. The qualifiers guarantee a place for the 2024 Copa do Brasil. At Estádio Douradão, in Dourados, the city team receives Operário. To advance, the DAC only needs to win. Any other result gives a place in the final to the Rooster. The first leg was 2-1 at Estádio Jacques da Luz, in Campo Grande.

In Costa Rica, at Estádio Laertão, Costa Rica has the duel against Ivinhema. The northern team can even lose by a goal difference to go to the final. It is worth noting that the home teams have an advantage of a tie in the aggregate to advance to the next stage, as they have a better overall campaign.

Beach volleyball – Campo Grande continues with the 1st stage of the 32nd Beach Volleyball State Circuit at Praça Esportiva Belmar Fidalgo this Saturday and Sunday. There will be 48 games for the adult category. The municipalities of Campo Grande, Três Lagoas, Dourados, Corumbá, Bela Vista and Ivinhema will have representatives. It is organized by FVMS (Mato Grosso do Sul Volleyball Federation).

Race – In commemoration of the 125th anniversary of the municipality of Coxim, 253 km from the Capital, there will be the 1st Street Race of the North Capital starting at 6 pm at Praça Zacarias Mourão. The routes are 5 and 10 km. In addition, the city will have the Kids Race.

karate – The 1st phase of the State Olympic Karate will take place this Saturday in Sidrolândia, 71 km away from the Capital. The competition will receive about 600 athletes. The venue will be at the Olegário da Costa Machado Municipal Gym. Admission is free.

Futsal – The 15th Pelezinho Women’s Futsal Cup takes place this Saturday with four more matches, in Campo Grande, starting at 9 am. The competition always takes place on Saturday mornings at Ginásio Pelezinho/União dos Sargentos, located in Bairro Amambaí. Admission is free. The dispute will start in the sub-15 category between Atlético Santista x Barão do Rio Branco. Next, for the sub-17, there is Aquidauanense x Sidrolândia. In the adult category, this Saturday they will play Atlético Santista x Serc/UCDB and Horus/Aquidauana x MAF FC.

Long Tie – In São Gabriel do Oeste, 137 km from the Capital, the stage of the Liberato Mafissoni bow club takes place. The venue for the event will be at the clubhouse. The event starts this Friday and runs through Sunday.

Jiu-jitsu – Campo Grande hosts, this Saturday, at Rádio Clube Campo, the Pantanal International Jiu-Jitsu event. Entry to the event will be 1 kg of non-perishable food. The competition is organized by the FSMJJ (Federação Sul-Mato-Grossense de Jiu-Jitsu).

Basketball – The 2nd União Master Basketball Cup continues with five games this weekend at the Clube União dos Sargentos Gym, in Campo Grande. This Friday, at 20:00 Sevilla x Ultimate (master 30+); on Saturday, there is Abaf x Unigran (women) at 2:30 pm, Gadão/União x Black Bask (master 40+) at 6 pm and Deportivo América x NTB (master 30+) at 7 pm. Sunday has Deportivo América x Gadão/União (master 50+) at 10:30 am.

Trail – Bodoquena, 265 km from Campo Grande, has the Bodoquena Trail Run with 21, 14 and 7 km races. The event will take place on Sunday at Serra da Bodoquena Waterfalls. Seats for competition are limited to 150 athletes.

Equestrianism – The Sul-Mato-Grossense Equestrian Federation promotes, this Saturday and Sunday, the 2nd stage of the 2023 Jumping Ranking. The competition will take place on EW-3 Road, lots 15 and 16, at Chácara dos Poderes, in Campo Grande. On both days, the tests start at 9am.
