WASHINGTON,February 29,2024 – Spotify just upped its prices again,and if you’re a subscriber,your wallet is about too feel the pinch. Starting next month, individual Premium plans will cost $12.99 monthly, a $1 increase from the previous rate.
The latest hike affects all Premium plans, from individual accounts to family subscriptions.
- Individual Spotify Premium plans now cost $12.99 per month.
- Duo plans are increasing to $18.99 monthly.
- family plans will now run $21.99 per month.
- Student plans are also affected, rising to $6.99 monthly.
Spotify Premium Duo plans for two people are going up to $18.99 a month, up from $16.99. Premium Family plans are getting hiked from $19.99 a month to $21.99. Even Premium Student plans are increasing, from $5.99 a month to $6.99. Existing subscribers will receive email notifications detailing the new rates, which will likely kick in after the next billing period, according to Variety.
New subscribers signing up for Duo or Family plans will pay the new prices immediately, while those opting for individual or student plans will get a month free before the changes take effect.
Is Spotify still the best value for music streaming? The last time Spotify raised prices was in June 2024,boosting individual rates from $10.99 to $11.99,and increasing prices for other Premium plans as well.That June 2024 increase marked Spotify’s second price hike in a year.
