Sri Lanka’s 76th Independence Day was celebrated under the leadership of President Ranil Wickremesinghe. Thai Prime Minister Shretha Thavisin was the special guest at the function, which was themed “Let’s build a new nation”, at the Colombo Galle Mukathidal. At the ceremony, officers from the Army, Navy, Air Force, Police and Civil Defense took part in the parade carrying the national flag to showcase Sri Lanka’s military strength.
