TIRUPUR: The Tirupur Kerala Friends Club (TKFC) recently conducted an auction to acquire players for the upcoming ‘Sribhagavathy Clothing Supercup Sevens’ football league tournament. The event, which is based on the Indian Super League (ISL) model, will feature eight teams competing for the championship title.
The auction, held at Fatah Turf Ground on Tirupur Palladam Road, saw the acquisition of 60 players out of the 90 pre-registered club members. The participating teams made bids to secure their desired players for the upcoming tournament.
Notable acquisitions included midfielder Abu Tahir by Novich F.C. and forward Zabeel by Black Out F.C. Zabeel emerged as the most valuable player in the auction, highlighting the competitive nature of the bidding process.
TKFC Secretary K.P. Naushad, a Tirupur businessman, managed the auction, ensuring a smooth and organized process for both the clubs and players. Additionally, technical control was overseen by Sanoop.2, adding to the professionalism and fairness of the event.
