Palakkad: The four accused arrested in the murder case of Palakkad RSS worker Srinivasan will be produced in court today. Police may demand the release of Mohammad Bilal, Riyazuddin, Sahad, who assisted the accused, and Rizwan, who brought the accused’s phones home. Police said six people directly involved in the crime would be arrested soon.
According to police, Abdurahman, a native of Shankhuvaram, Ummer, a native of Pattambi, who was on a bike with Tamil Nadu registration, Feroz and Abdul Khader, who was on an Activa bike, were soon involved in the murder. Meanwhile, the identification parade of the three accused arrested in the Zubair murder case is likely to take place today.
Meanwhile, the ban in Palakkad district will continue till April 24, the district collector said. Srinivasan, a former RSS corporal punishment leader, was also killed in Melamuri after Popular Front activist Zubair was stabbed to death on Vishu Day. With this, a ban was announced throughout the district. The ban, which was announced on April 16, has now been extended in view of the possible sectarian tensions following the killings and the possible disturbance of law and order.
The order prohibits the gathering of five or more people in public places. No meetings, demonstrations or processions are allowed in public places. Section 4 of the Indian Arms Act prohibits individuals from carrying weapons in public places. Section 4 of the Indian Explosives Act, 1884 stipulates that possession of explosives in public places and speculation in the society should not be allowed to cause unforeseen incidents. The order does not apply to essential services and law enforcement agencies.
