Piltown, Co. Kilkenny — Stasia Commins (nee Doherty) Banagher, a beloved mother, grandmother, and sister, passed away peacefully on January 11, 2024, following a short illness at Mooncoin Residential Care Centre. She was 87.

The Kilkenny community mourns the loss of a woman deeply cherished by her family and friends.

Born in piltown, Stasia was predeceased by her husband, Jim, and siblings Jimmy, Dick, Paddy, John, Joe, Nelly, and Mary. Her warmth and kindness touched the lives of all who knew her, leaving a lasting legacy of love and devotion.

Family Legacy—Stasia Commins is survived by seven children,a brother,Willie,and a large extended family. Her dedication to family was central to her life.

What was Stasia Commins known for? She was known for her loving nature and dedication to her family,leaving behind a strong and supportive network of loved ones who will deeply miss her presence.

Stasia’s passing marks the end of an era for the Commins family and the Piltown community, where she was a familiar and respected figure.

She is deeply regretted by her daughters,Marie and Laura; sons,Alan,Frank,paul,David,Brian,and Leo; brother Willie; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; daughters-in-law; sons-in-law; nieces; nephews; relatives; and friends.

Reposing at Walsh’s Funeral Home, Carrick on Suir, will be held on Monday, january 12th, from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM. Following this, her remains will be removed to the Church of the Assumption, Piltown. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, January 13th, at 12:30 PM, with burial taking place afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.
