The global film market has been the scene of profound transformations in recent years, with the advancement of streaming platforms and the increasing incorporation of artificial intelligence in productions. These changes have directly impacted labor relations in the industry, generating discussions about the future of the sector and the conditions of the professionals involved. Currently, the strike that paralyzes numerous productions in Hollywood has become a significant milestone in this context.

Flavia Rocha, director of communication at the International Film Academy (AIC), highlights the relevance of changes in the market. “Streaming platforms have revolutionized the traditional model of the film industry, concentrating production and distribution and breaking down geographic barriers. The use of artificial intelligence is also affecting the foundations of the industry, which could result in creative and technical positions being eliminated,” she explains.

These transformations have consequences not only for financial results, but also for the working conditions of actors, screenwriters, cinematographers and technical teams. The wage gap between elite professionals and the vast majority that support film production is one of the most critical points, with many actors and screenwriters facing financial difficulties.

A greve em Hollywood raises crucial questions about the urgency of new guidelines for the film industry and puts pressure on the subject to be debated at the government level. The event “Cinema and Market Week”, organized by AIC From July 31st to August 4th, it will address this topic and other relevant industry issues, seeking to promote debate and awareness about the current cinema scenario.

Event attendees will have the opportunity to discuss the future of the film industry, the necessary regulations and the importance of ensuring fairer conditions for all professionals involved in film production.

Entries for the Film and Market Week are open and can be done through the website. Entry is free and limited.
