Emergency measures on the streets of Athens

Emergency traffic measures will be taken tomorrow from 09:30 in the morning in the center of Athens, for better traffic management due to the realization of the gatherings and the protest march of unions, student associations and other collectives.

Specifically, according to the Traffic Police, the traffic regulations will be implemented gradually and on a case-by-case basis – where necessary and depending on the movement of the demonstrators – in streets surrounding the Propylaia, Omonoia Square (Patision, Aiolou, etc.), Syntagma Square (Othonos, Amalia and Vasilissis Sofia Avenues) as well as on the University and Stadium roads.

The center is inaccessible due to the gatherings

With the slogan “accuracy at the height, wages at the bottom”, GSEE will hold a protest rally at 11 am in Klathmonos square and PAME half an hour earlier at Syntagma.

At 5 pm, in the Field of Areos, a gathering and motorcade of the distributors in the center of Athens is planned.

The GSEE claims, according to its announcement, “increases in wages, taking immediate measures to deal with punctuality, the suppression of profiteering, as well as the reinstatement of the Collective Labor Agreements.

Greece is first in the distribution of profits in the national income and penultimate in the participation of wages in the national income. We are second in accuracy in the European Union and penultimate in wages.

Given the inflationary pressures in housing as well, GSEE proposes the development of social housing on public land with money from the reserves of the former OEK which amount to 1.5 billion and also through banks”.
