New Delhi: MTR Foods has created a new Guinness World Record by making the world’s longest dosa. MTR Foods has made about 123 feet long dosa. The company has achieved this feat on its 100th anniversary. A team of chefs worked together to make this longest dosa. This record has been made in the MTR factory in Bengaluru. The video of this dosa has been posted on social media platforms. The team of chefs was led by Reggie Matthews. Dosa can also be seen cooking in the video. MTR Foods in collaboration with Lorman Kitchen Equipments has prepared this dosa, which got the title of world’s longest dosa by Guinness World Records, but do you know that MTR Foods started from a small restaurant. This incident happened in the year 1924. Three brothers Parameshwara Maiya, Ganappayya Maiya and Yajnarayana Maiya were experts in cooking. He came from village to city and started working as a cook in many rich families. This is how MTR Foods started
The three brothers left their job as cooks and started a small restaurant in Lalbagh Road area of Bengaluru. It was named Brahmin Coffee Club. Only idli and coffee were served here. This small restaurant very soon became famous among the people. After the death of Ganappayya, both the brothers continued handling this work. In the year 1951, Yagyanarayan went on a trip to Europe to learn how to run a restaurant. After this he came back and changed the name of his restaurant to Mavli Tiffin Room i.e. MTR. Here people got good quality at low prices.
