The Rebbe’s House issued a statement stating that “in the Holy Order of the Rebbe Shlita, a ‘Necessary Assembly’ will be held in the Holy Land on the evening of Shabbat Kodesh in our Great Beit Midrash at exactly 9:30.”
“And in this we call on the name of the Chief Rebbe Shlita in private to each and every one of our well-loved and beloved people D. on whom they will live,” the statement reads.
Since the publication of the meeting, rumors have been circulating in the world of Hasidism about the circumstances of the gathering, after the Hasidim were not informed of the purpose and reason for the gathering.
“This is a sudden order from the Rebbe of Babov,” a follower of Babov told Behadrei Haredim.
He said, “Several years ago there was a similar incident when the Rebbe instructed all the yeshiva students of the Chassidut to gather at the Yeshiva Hall, and even a live broadcast was broadcast to the Chassidic students in Israel.
