47 pounds worth of jewelery and 2 lakh worth of silverware were looted from a jewelery shop in Valliyoor.
Ramachandran (50) hails from Valliyoor in Nellai district. He runs a jewelery shop on Valliyoor Radhapuram Main Road. With 4 people working in this shop, Ramachandran, who has been in poor health for the last few months, is not coming to the shop properly.
In this case, when the jewelry in the store was checked, it was revealed that some of the jewelry was missing. Following this, Ramachandran monitored the employees working in the jewelery shop through CCTV footage.
It was revealed that Suba, a woman from Koriyur village near Kalandapana, who was working in a jewelery shop at the time, stole the jewelery. A subsequent check of all gold and silver jewelery revealed that it contained 47 pounds of gold jewelery and less than 4 kg of silver jewelery.
Following a complaint lodged by Ramachandran at the Valliyoor police station, the police arrested Suba, who worked in a jewelery shop, and recovered all the jewelery from him. The woman is still being investigated.
