Embassy instructs Indians to leave Ukraine
Indian Embassy in Ukraine has asked Indian citizens to leave Ukraine as soon as possible.
In an advisory, the embassy has asked Indian citizens not to travel to the Eastern European country of Ukraine.

“In view of the deteriorating security situation and the escalation of hostilities across Ukraine, Indian citizens are advised to avoid travel to Ukraine,” the embassy said.
“Indian citizens, including students currently in Ukraine, are advised to leave Ukraine as soon as possible by available means,” the embassy said.
China stalls to blacklist Hafiz Thala Saeed
China on Wednesday put on hold a proposal by India and the United States to the UN to blacklist Lashkar-e-Taiba chief Hafiz Saeed’s son and a member of the Pakistan-based militant outfit Hafiz Thala Saeed.
Hafiz Talha Saeed, 46, is the son of Hafiz Saeed, a key leader of the Lashkar terror group and mastermind of the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks.
The Indian government declared him a terrorist in April this year.
China is known to have put on hold a proposal to include Hafiz Tala Saeed under the UN Security Council’s 1267 Al Qaeda sanctions panel.
This is the second time in two days that China has put on hold a request submitted by India and the US to designate a Pakistan-based terrorist as a global terrorist.

Myanmar prison blast; 8 people died
Explosives inside parcels detonated at Myanmar’s largest prison on Wednesday, prompting soldiers to return fire in a clash that killed at least eight people, state media and witnesses said.
An armed anti-military group claimed responsibility for the attack at Insein prison, saying in a statement posted on social media that it was “retaliation against (junta leader) Min Aung Hlaing”.
“Today… Burma’s Special Task Force (STA) carried out two attacks to kill the prison chief. “We are retaliating against Min Aung Hlaing and the prison authorities for their continued oppression of our revolutionary comrades,” it said.
Supreme Court summons to Gotabaya Rajapakse
Sri Lanka’s Supreme Court on Wednesday ordered authorities to summon ousted President Gotabaya Rajapaksa to appear in court over two activists who disappeared in 2011 because he is no longer in constitutional office.
Gotabaya Rajapaksa, 73, is to testify in a case filed in connection with the disappearance of two human rights activists, Lalith Weeraraj and Gugan Muruganandan, in the northern district of Jaffna.
The 2 human rights activists disappeared 12 years before the end of the country’s long civil war, when Gotabaya Rajapaksa was a powerful official in the Ministry of Defense under his elder brother Mahinda Rajapaksa.
