Suns Add Lakers Game After NBA Cup Elimination, Offer Ticket Package
The Phoenix Suns will face the Los Angeles Lakers in a newly scheduled regular-season game on Sunday, December 14, at 6 p.m. at the Mortgage Matchup Center, following their decisive loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder in the Emirates NBA Cup quarterfinals. The team is also offering a special ticket package for fans.
Crushing Defeat in NBA Cup Quarterfinals
The Suns suffered a historic defeat on Wednesday, falling to the Oklahoma City Thunder 138-89 in the NBA Cup quarterfinal. This marked the most lopsided loss in the franchise’s history, exposing vulnerabilities as the team navigates the inaugural tournament.
Dillon Brooks led the Suns in scoring with 16 points, but struggled with his shot, converting only 4 of 16 attempts. The Thunder’s defense proved impenetrable, holding Phoenix to their lowest point total of the season.
Allen Ejection Adds to Suns’ Woes
The game was further marred by the ejection of Phoenix Suns guard Grayson Allen after a physical altercation with the Thunder’s Chet Holmgren. Allen forcefully shoved Holmgren, knocking him to the floor while the Thunder player appeared to be setting a screen. The incident resulted in a Flagrant 2 foul for Allen. Booker Remains Sidelined
Wednesday’s game was the third consecutive missed contest for Suns star Devin Booker, who is nursing a strained right groin. Booker previously acknowledged that the Thunder’s defensive prowess – currently the league’s best – is becoming increasingly apparent to opponents. “The secret is out” about their defensive capabilities, he stated after a previous matchup.
Thunder Dominate, Advance to Semifinals
The Oklahoma City Thunder’s victory improved their record to an impressive 24-1, tying for the best 25-game start in NBA history. They will now advance to the semifinal round to face the San Antonio Spurs on Saturday.
Ticket Offer for Suns Fans
Suns fans have the opportunity to purchase a special ticket package through Suns.com/2for300. For $300, fans can secure a lower-level seat to both the December 14th game against the Lakers and a subsequent game on Thursday, February 28, also against the Lakers.
