Singer and actress Adi Beatty will star in director Yehuda Grobeis’ new film “The Forgotten Story,” a period Jewish drama from 250 years ago. Adi was cast by Yossi Hoffman and will play the daughter of the sun of the Baal Shem Tov – the father of the Hasidic movement.
Leah’s father is a rebellious poor man and Leah who is about to get married wants a big beautiful and expensive wedding. Her father tries to raise money for the wedding without success and Leah tries to raise herself by publishing and selling stories of the righteous. The film focuses on characters who do not usually get the spotlight. The sun (the helper) of the good husband, his daughter Leah (Adi Beatty) and his cart (his driver).
Recall that this is not Beatty’s first “religious” role. In November 2020, the actress was cast as an ultra-Orthodox girl, in the film “Good Guys” which deals with matchmaking in the ultra-Orthodox world. Beatty played the character of Ruthie, an ultra-Orthodox girl who is betrothed to Moti, a yeshiva boy who is considered a prodigy in the Torah and is courted by matchmakers in the sector.
