Colby Swimming & Diving Poised for Competitive Season, Women’s Team Ranked Nationally

The Colby College men’s and women’s swimming & diving teams are gearing up for the new season, with the women’s programme earning a notable No. 19 ranking in the CSCAA’s National Division III preseason poll. The teams will kick off their competition schedule this Saturday with a meet against Amherst College.
The Colby women’s team is entering the 2024-25 season on the heels of a historic performance, achieving their highest team finish at the NCAA Championships in 17 years. The Colby men’s team finished 9th out of 11 schools at the NESCAC Championship last year and is persistent to improve upon that result. The team will look to its five seniors – ethan Chang, Nathaniel Chon, alexander MacLennan, Noam Reinhorn, and brandon Xiong – for leadership. A critically important influx of 13 first-year student-athletes will add depth and potential to the roster.
Coaching Staff Stability and Additions
Tom Burton returns for his 28th season as Head Coach of the Mules, bringing a wealth of experience and a proven track record of success.He is joined by Associate Head Coach Craig Nisgor in his third season and Diving Coach Luca Brashear in his second. The coaching staff has been further strengthened with the addition of Haley Thier, who joins the program after a distinguished collegiate career at both Calvin and Denison University.
