Urgent Search for Missing Children in Sydney’s Waterloo District

A desperate search is underway for two young siblings, Normani Murray-Lawrence, 5, and Laphius Murray-Lawrence, 2, who were last seen in Waterloo, Sydney, on Thursday, July 4th. Authorities and family members express serious concerns for the children’s welfare as the investigation intensifies.

Children Last Seen in Waterloo

The two children were last observed at a unit complex located on Pitt Street in Waterloo at approximately 12:00 PM on Thursday. Normani is of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander appearance, approximately 105cm tall, and was wearing a pink dress and white sandals at the time of her disappearance. Her younger brother, Laphius, also of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander appearance and around 85cm tall, was dressed in a navy blue jumper and navy blue shorts and was being carried in a stroller. He was not wearing shoes.

Adults Potentially Involved

Police believe the children may be in the company of a 24-year-old woman, also of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander appearance. She is described as being approximately 160cm tall with long brown hair and a slim build. She was last seen wearing a black hooded jumper, a red t-shirt, black leggings, and a black cap, and was also barefoot. A key identifying feature is an injury to her right leg, causing her to limp. Authorities indicate she is known to frequent the Waterloo and Redfern areas.

Additionally, the children may be with a 35-year-old man, described as being of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander appearance, 165cm tall, and of slim build. He was last seen wearing grey tracksuit pants, black shoes, a red-and-black polo shirt, a white jacket, and carrying a black backpack.

Vehicle of Interest

Investigators are focusing on a white dual-cab 2013 Nissan Navara with New South Wales registration plates DH13TM as potentially being involved.
