The Valley Preferred Cycling Center in Trexlertown, known as “T-Town,” will host a special tribute event this Friday night to honor the memory of Nicole Reinhart.

A Rising Star Remembered

The Nicole Reinhart Memorial Women’s Open, scheduled for July 25, celebrates the life and accomplishments of Reinhart. She tragically died at age 24 in a race in 2000, after establishing herself as a rising star in American cycling.

“Nicole was one of those rare people whose talent was undeniable, but it was her kindness that truly set her apart,” said Jake Burns, marketing consultant for the Valley Preferred Cycling Center. “I was lucky to call her a friend, and I watched firsthand as she inspired everyone around her — not just with how fast she could ride, but with how deeply she cared for others.”

Honoring Legacy, Inspiring Future

The annual event aims to uplift the next generation of women in cycling while preserving Reinhart’s memory. This year, cyclist Christine D’Ercole, who competed against Reinhart during the 1997 EDS Cup Series, will return to the track to ride in her honor.

D’Ercole is organizing a fundraising raffle with a goal of raising $2,000 for the Memorial Race prize purse. Any additional funds will benefit Star Track, a youth cycling organization. The raffle prizes include a hand-stamped sterling silver pendant, a custom bar pendant, and a personalized journal.

Raffle tickets for the gift package range from $20 for one ticket to $60 for four tickets. They can be purchased online. The winner will be announced during Friday’s races.

The event begins at 7 p.m., with gates opening at 6 p.m. Tickets and schedule information are available on the facility’s website.

The Valley Preferred Cycling Center, widely respected for hosting elite competitions, continues to nurture cycling talent from grassroots to Olympic level through events like this memorial race.
