Topographical working groups and legal groups from Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan have completed a description of more than 10.7 km of the disputed border between the two countries, Day.Az reports.

This work was carried out during a meeting that took place from March 12 to 17 in the Tajik Buston, Sughd region. As a result of the meeting, an agreement was reached on 10.76 km of the Tajik-Kyrgyz border, and the corresponding protocol was signed. The parties also agreed to hold the next meeting on the territory of Kyrgyzstan, where they will continue to work on describing the remaining sections of the border.

In February, the Tajik Foreign Minister said that almost 200 km of the common border line had already been described, but approximately 100 km of disputed areas remained. Both countries are interested in the speedy completion of the border delimitation and demarcation process, but the exact date for signing the final agreement is still unknown.
