Taliban post poster in Kandahar Trying To Look Like Animals: Taliban On Women Without Hijab

by time news

Kabul: Taliban police have posted posters saying “women who do not wear full-body clothing are trying to be like animals”. The posters were posted in the southern Afghan city of Kandahar.

The poster also has a picture of the burqa (mask). Posters were pasted on top of cafes, shops and advertising hoardings. The Taliban have made it clear that those who wear tight-fitting, transparent clothing that does not cover the entire body are violating the law. The Taliban ministry in Kabul has not commented on the posters.

The Taliban have been cracking down on women since taking power in Afghanistan last August. Last May, Taliban leader and sovereign Hibatullah Akhunzada ordered women to stay home and wear face and body clothing when appearing in public.

The Taliban have promised not to impose the same restrictions as in the previous regime when it seized power. But within a month of coming to power, laws were introduced to remove women from public spaces. The law denied girls higher education and allowed women to leave only if they had male relatives. It was also suggested that women should visit private places where men do not have access.
