What is it about : A College of Ministers Advisors. This is the new body created by Decree No. 2024-006 of January 9, 2024 in the Council of Ministers of January 9, 2024. Placed under the authority of the Head of State, the College of Ministers Advisors includes ministers advisors headed by a Coordinator designated by the Head of State. The main role of its Coordinator is to monitor the implementation of the activity programs of the ministers-advisors. He participates in meetings, seminars and activities of the Council of Ministers, like members of the cabinet of the President of the Republic.
Who is a minister advisor: The minister advisor is a collaborator of the President of the Republic. On the proposal of political parties that are members of the presidential majority in the National Assembly or which support government action, he is appointed by presidential decree and has the mission of contributing, on the one hand, to the definition of government policy and, on the other hand, monitoring the implementation of the action program and all other initiatives coming from the government.
What are its missions : Mainly, the college participates in the development of sectoral policies; contributes to the preparation of political speeches in which he puts forward the ideas, options and opinions of the government, so as to inform the population and explain certain government positions. The Minister Advisor obtains information and takes into consideration all the elements of a given situation in order to be able to propose relevant solutions to the Head of State. He ensures monitoring on the ground of the execution of the decisions and directives of the Head of State and the processing of files submitted to the office of the Head of State. In addition, he participates in the preparation of decisions of the Council of Ministers and monitors the implementation of projects, reforms, programs and initiatives of the government, in relation with the monitoring units of the Presidency of the Republic, the ministers sectors and the entities responsible for implementing the government’s action program. To this end, he is a member of the Interministerial Committee and participates in meetings initiated by the President of the Republic or sectoral ministers and carries out any other activity at the request of the Head of State.
Furthermore: The College has an administrative secretariat which also ensures the interface with the other administrative support services of the Presidency of the Republic.
