Sridhar Vembu is one of the top 50 billionaires in India. He founded and runs the technology company Soho. His property is worth around Rs.30 thousand crores. He said that if he expands his business, he will move to cities in central and eastern UP and is learning Hindi for that.
Sridhar Vembu, a native of Thanjavur, holds a Bachelor of Engineering from IIT Madras and a PhD from Princeton University, New Jersey, USA. He started his career as a wireless engineer in California and in 1996 started a software company for network equipment suppliers in the US with his brothers. In 2009, it was renamed as Soho. Currently offering SaaS software as a service.
While all international software companies have opened their branches only in metropolitan cities, Sridhar Vembu has taken a new initiative by opening a branch of Soho in a hamlet near Tenkasi to provide well-paying jobs to the youth of the area. He has also trained non-graduates and brought them into the software industry. His activities are mentoring young entrepreneurs.
In this case, he has shared an information through Twitter for the youth who want to become young entrepreneurs. It said, “If I start a branch, I will go to cities in central and eastern UP and Bihar. There are crores of youth waiting for opportunity. At present law and order is in good condition. I am learning Hindi to be there.” He said.
