Tamil Nadu is the cannabis capital of India says Annamalai

by time news

BJP state president Annamalai has alleged that Tamil Nadu is the cannabis capital of India. In his statement in this regard, he said, “In Tamil Nadu, people are seeing the social degradation caused by drugs day by day through the news. It can be seen from the eye-catching activities of our police that Operation Ganja 1.0, 2.0, 3.0, that the circulation of drugs in Tamil Nadu is at an unprecedented level.

On August 11, Chief Minister M. K. Stalin took an oath against drug use. On the third day, the Tamil Nadu government has set a new record by selling 273.9 crore rupees worth of liquor in a single day. That was the moment when people were mesmerized by the seriousness of the Tamil Nadu government in eradicating drug addiction.

Minister Ponmudi

Higher Education Minister Mr. Ponmudi has once again highlighted the incompetence of the DMK government. It would have been better if Minister Ponmudi had met the journalists with Mr. DR Balu and Mr. Jagatratsakan, the members of parliament who are running the brewery.

It is funny that a minister is spreading false information on WhatsApp like Mundra port, which has been functioning since the 17th century, is where drugs go to all parts of India. Not only that, the minister also talked about how this port was privatized only in the last 8 years. Does the minister not even know that Mundra port has been privatized since 1998?

According to the statistics given by the Tamil Nadu Police to the Narcotics Control Unit, the amount of cocaine seized from May to December 2021 was just 0.05 kg. This is the most commonly smuggled drug from abroad. Ganja is widely circulated in Tamil Nadu.

The number of people arrested for the crime of selling drugs in Tamil Nadu in December 2019 was 742. The number of people arrested in December 2020 was 771. The number of people arrested in December 2021 was 1,558.

The Minister who is proud that the arrests have increased after the DMK came to power, should realize that the sale of ganja in Tamil Nadu has been rampant only after the DMK came to power.

I am obliged to bring to your attention through this report that a DMK leader who smuggled 2 kg of ganja four weeks ago was arrested near Trichy. In January this year, there have been several reports including the news that a DMK executive was caught with drugs in Andhra Pradesh. The vehicle used by the arrested executive is registered in Thoothukudi. If someone from another state accuses that drugs are being smuggled from Thoothukudi, how big of a bow will it be for Tamil Nadu?

The DMK government’s achievement is to make Tamilnadu the capital of ganja without discussing where this ganja comes from… and how to stop it. The DMK government has the honor of being the first in India to steal up to Rs 5,000 per year from an individual by selling liquor. How can we believe that the government, which sold alcohol through Tasmac and collected an average of 5,000 rupees from each Tamilian last year, will eradicate drug addiction?

DMK should stop blaming the central government to cover up their incompetence. DMK ministers should first close down the liquor factories they run and then advise others. We hope that you will do something constructive instead of deceiving people with eye-opening measures,” said Annamalai.
