The northeast monsoon is intensifying in Tamil Nadu. Heavy to very heavy rains are expected especially in some districts including Chennai, Tiruvallur, Kanchipuram, Villupuram, Cuddalore, Kanyakumari and Thoothukudi. Thus, in many places, residential areas are surrounded by rainwater.
Tamil Nadu Weatherman Pradeep John has now released a post in which he says, ‘A new depression is forming in the Arabian Sea tomorrow. Thus today is going to be the biggest day for Tamil Nadu. Due to this, it will rain in parts of inner Tamil Nadu, western Tamil Nadu and southern Tamil Nadu. It is likely to rain less in Chennai than in the last 2 days and you should also watch the clouds forming tonight. Cyclone is likely to form in the Gulf of Mannar. Thus, there is a possibility of heavy rain in southern Tamil Nadu. The rain last night was as expected.

On a large scale it did not increase the suffering of the public. Those huge rain clouds that we were afraid of are moving closer and closer to Chennai today, so it will still rain in Chennai today. But little by little the rain will subside. Chennai, Kanchipuram, Chengalpattu and Tiruvallur districts will receive good rainfall today. However, bulk rain clouds are likely to move over Chennai towards southern Andhra Pradesh. Due to this it will rain in Ranipettai and Tiruvallur districts. The people of Chennai need not fear.
Areas from Delta to Cuddalore receive good rainfall. It is also likely to rain in Cuddalore and adjoining districts today. Heavy showers are expected in the southern districts tonight and tomorrow morning due to the temporary weather conditions. And let me know if there is any update.
