Tata appoints Ilker Aizi as CEO of Air India | Dynamics

New Delhi: Ilkar Aisi, former chairman of Turkish Airlines, has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Managing Director (MD) of Air India.

In October last year, Air India was auctioned off by the central government to the private sector to offset its losses. Of this, Tata bought Air India for Rs 18,000 crore. Of this, Tata Sons agreed to pay Rs 2,700 crore in cash and accept Ao India’s loan for the remaining Rs 15,300 crore. Following this, the Central Government officially handed over Air India to the Tata Group.

Tata Sons has announced the appointment of Ilgar Aisy as the new CEO and Managing Director of Air India. In a statement, Air India said the meeting with Tata Sons Chairman Chandrasekaran had decided to appoint Ilker Aizi as Air India’s new CEO and Managing Director. He previously served as chairman of Turkish Airlines.
