The state cabinet has approved the acquisition of Tata Motors’ board car factory in Sanand, Gujarat.

The board announced last year that it would shut down its plants in Gujarat and Tamil Nadu.

The two companies are in talks to sell the board plant in Gujarat to Tata.

A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed between the Gujarat government, Tata Motors and the board on Monday.
