The rest after this announcement

Apron around the waist. Hands protected by gloves and cutting plantains. This dynamic 26-year-old young lady welcomes us with a smile that emphasizes her ebony features. Tegwendé Awa Kindra or the Garbadeuse, since it belongs to her.

She was bitten by the entrepreneurial bug at a young age. After obtaining her Baccalaureate in 2019, she decided not to continue with classes anymore and became economically independent to stand on her own two feet.

This is how she created her restaurant” A big garba by Kindra », specialized in the sale of attiéké. And as if to confirm the spirit of creativity and innovation that drives her, she adds a special touch to the attiéké and thus gives the “Garba cake”.

The story begins on September 15, 2023 on the birthday of a girl who is allergic to milk. However, she needs a cake to mark this celebration on her birthday. Her big sister writes to Kindra to find out if she can make a cake with attiéké, instead of the pastry made with milk.

“We can eat in groups”

The “garbadeuse” does not hesitate. She tries to create something special. End result: attiéké in the form of a cake is made available on social networks and attracts the attention of several Internet users. Since then, orders for this new cake model are increasing day by day.

“Customers think it’s new because they’ve never seen it. Many people appreciate it, especially since it is made with attiéké. We rarely see this and many people do not like sugar or do not eat it. Others are allergic to milk.

So they found the idea very wonderful. Which prompted them to stop their curiosity and see what it looks like. Plus, it’s something you can eat in a group, it’s not like the other cakes you see. With this, we can eat with colleagues in the office. You can easily share », we entrust you with Tegwende Awa Kindra.

Garba cake is a great idea to satisfy love. Its preparation requires creativity and cleanliness for a better result. With ingredients such as attiéké, alloco, tuna fish, eggs, onions, green pepper and mayonnaise, the “garbadeuse” does everything possible to satisfy his customers.

Personal Garba Cake

For garnish, she chops the onions, green tomatoes and green peppers. Then she prepares the cardboard that will be used for the packaging and then she puts a base in it so that it is really effective. She also uses a mold to shape her cake. “But there are times when we can’t get along. So I use eggs instead of avocado », she explains. Also, to complete the decoration, Kindra uses mayonnaise to write a note on the customer’s request.

Depending on the consistency of the ingredients used, garba cake prices range from 5,000 francs to 7,000 francs. “It was basically 7,000 francs, but I saw that people were asking me if I could lower the price. I tried to change the price to 5,000 francs and 6,000 francs,” the garbadeuse explains.

Cutting the condiments, frying the fish and the aloe, washing the plates, serving customers, decorating the garbage cake, these are the tasks that await Awa Kindra every day in her restaurant “Super garba chez Kindra” .

She works alone, but often uses delivery people to order her customers through mostly social networks. “In the restaurant, I’m alone at the moment but I work with other delivery people who help me deliver. These delivery men are paid according to their services,” she points out.

With a monthly profit of between 40,000 francs and 50,000 francs, Awa Kindra manages to cover certain expenses and her personal needs. She says she is proud of her results, but hopes to win even more. “This activity feeds my husband while I manage certain tasks. I managed to pay my rent, meet my own expenses. I am proud of it but the objective has not been achieved yet,” she notes.

In any activity, there are many difficulties. In the sale of Garba, Kindra often lacks tuna fish and attiéké, which slightly hinders his activity. “Just last week I had trouble getting fish and last week I had the same problem with attiéké. My supplier was not able to supply me with the attiéké, and that penalized me greatly », the young entrepreneur is sorry.

Open an attiéké factory and a fishmonger to satisfy Garba cake customers

To overcome all these difficulties, the “garbadeuse” plans to open her own fishmonger where she can have fish anytime. She also plans to launch into attiéké production. “That would prevent me from always having stories because there is no fish, there is no attiéké.

But if you are there, you can manage it, there will be less penalties. Because there are many customers that you lose, especially since we know that a lot of customers when they come it is tuna fish that they prefer. So when there’s no tuna fish, people don’t come.” Kindra points out.
