Tempe: Church bells will ring mournfully on Wednesday – 57 hits as many victims

by time news

The bells in the country’s holy temples will ring mournfully tomorrow morning in memory of the victims of the tragic accident in Tempi.

In fact, the bells will ring 57 times as many as the people who lost their lives.

The circular

With a related circular, the Holy Synod of the Church of Greece informs all the Metropolises about this initiative after a request that was accepted by the president of the Association of Relatives of Tempo Victims, Maria Karystianou.

“We asked the Holy Archdiocese of Athens to ring the bells in mourning tomorrow… We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for accepting and implementing our request. After all, we are now certain that nothing is self-evident in our lives and nothing is given.

A knock and a trisago, then, for every soul that left a year ago in the valley of Tempe…

The words that manipulate people’s pain, that wish to limit the love that unites the hearts of people, the hearts that have been violently separated, the words that try to diminish the faith that unites life and death, until now indeed they have been many and they made a fuss.

The truth never makes a fuss.

With our cries, with our tears, with our voice, with our truth… always towards the light.

Tomorrow the bell will ring to purify the souls of the innocent, to remember our responsibility in life.

We hope in the Resurrection and the restoration.

Until then, the truth will knock!”
