Russian tennis players Daniil Medvedev and Andrei Rublev as part of the European team won the Laver Cup ahead of schedule – a tournament in which the European team competes with other national teams. An early victory was brought by the match of Rublev in tandem with the representative of Germany Alexander Zverev against the American Riley Opelka and Denis Shapovalov, representing Canada.
The match ended with a score of 14: 1 in favor of the European team. In addition to Rublev and Medvedev, the European team includes the Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas, the Italian Matteo Berrettini and the Norwegian Kasper Ruud.
Laver Cup has been held since 2017. The European team has won for the fourth time.
