The police arrested the priest from Jammu and Kashmir’s Kishtwar district on charges of passing on sensitive information about the security forces to Pakistan. According to the police, he was also helping the Kashmiri Janbaz Force, a terrorist organization based in Pakistan.
Earlier, the police said, officials had discovered the involvement of a person in passing on information about the deployment and movement of security forces to a Pakistan-based terrorist group. 22-year-old Abdul Wahid, who worked as a teacher in a madrasa and as a priest in a mosque in Kishtwar, was arrested. Last Friday, Wahid was summoned by the police to appear for questioning in Kishtwar.
