Under the leadership of Deputy Prime Minister Hambardzum Matevosyan, the 1st meeting of the management board of the irrigated agriculture development project in Ararat and Armavir marzes was held in cooperation with the French Development Agency.
Deputy Prime Minister Hambardzum Matevosyan highly appreciated the continuous cooperation of the Armenian government and the French Development Agency aimed at the effective implementation of the current reforms of the Armenian government in the irrigation sector. During the session, current issues of project implementation were discussed, as well as the results of the international competition for the selection of the project operator were approved by the management committee.
The grant program for the development of irrigated agriculture in Ararat and Armavir marzes in the amount of 10 million euros is aimed at supporting the development of irrigation systems in accordance with modern requirements, promoting the use of water-saving technologies and the improvement of irrigation infrastructures, the efficient use of water resources as a result of land consolidation, as well as consulting services for farmers and new ensuring access to financial instruments.
