The first biennial dedicated to contemporary sculpture on the African continent, the Ouagadougou International Sculpture Biennial (BISO) is an artistic event that highlights sculpture. For his part, Sébastien Boko won the Somian design residence prize. Coming from Benin, this visual artist is delighted to see his art rewarded. This testifies to its quality. « This prize once again confirms that what I do has meaning, that I don’t get lost, and that at the end of the effort, there is always a reward, and that the youngest must understand that it is always necessary an effort to get a reward.
Because I gave my soul to what I do, and that came with a price, it makes me proud of the profession I chose, I am proud of what I produced. I’m also proud because I didn’t do it half-heartedly, I gave everything I have deep within me »he expressed himself.
