The advice of ‘El Rubius’ to Elon Musk: “Do to Twitter what you did with cars”

by time news

“Hazle a Twitter what you did with the cars”. This is the advice that the influential Spanish El Rubius has given nothing more and nothing less than Elon Musk, the new owner of Twitter and owner of Tesla, with whom he has had the opportunity to cross a series of tweets on account of payment for being verified in this social network.

The South African billionaire took control of Twitter last Tuesday and has been quick to announce some draft changes, not exempt from controversyon the platform, how to implement the payment of eight dollars a month for obtaining the blue seal that verifies the identity of an account.

Complaints about this measure have not been long in coming. They have talked about it prominent -and verified- personalities from around the worldlike the American writer of horror novels Stephen King, who in a tweet showed his total rejection of the verified payment and threatened to leave the social network.

“Fuck they should pay me”wrote the author of “The glow”to which Elon Musk replied: “We have to pay the bills somehow!”

Who has also given his opinion in recent hours about this new ‘premium’ service that Elon Musk intends to implement is El Rubius, one of the most influential young Spaniards, with more than 40 million subscribers on Youtube.

Also via Twitter, El Rubius, alias of Ruben Doblas Gundersen (Mijas, Málaga, 1990), has asked the new owner of the platform what will happen when a random user pays those 8 dollars and changes his name to impersonate another person who is also verified, using his same profile picture.

“This happens too often”The tycoon, also founder of the space company SpaceX, has responded succinctly.

El Rubius has returned to the fray pointing out that adding the verified stamp to all those who pay “will increase that problem” and has even taken the license to give advice to the richest man in the world: “I would gladly pay 8 dollars to have profile pictures and animated ‘banners’, or more personalization in general. Do to Twitter what you did with cars and it should be easy.

And against all odds, Musk has returned to respond to El Rubius, clarifying what he intends to do to avoid these identity theft: “If verified accounts violate the terms of service, eg spam/scam/phishing, will be suspended, but Twitter will keep your money!”

Musk has also picked up the glove of El Rubius and has assured that they will soon add “great things” like the ones suggested to Twitter Blue, which is what the premium subscription service that is on everyone’s lips these days is called.
