Traditionally, the Rheinberger Amplonius-Gymnasium celebrates the school festival “Advent at Amplonius” on the Friday before the first Advent. The school community now invites you to do so again. The festival is on Friday, December 1st, from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. There are musical performances, cheerleaders dancing, treats are offered and Christmas decorations are sold. The Advent on Amplonius week began with a fundraiser for the partner school in Ukraine, which runs until Friday. A lot of relief supplies will be sent to Lviv again before Christmas.

“Our partnership with the Economic Lyceum in Lemberg is alive,” says headmaster Marcus Padtberg. “The visit from the students from Ukraine was impressive and continues in the form of pen pals, video calls and so on.” Collecting donations for Ukraine is

a matter of the heart. Light, long-lasting foods are needed, such as muesli bars, instant soups, ready meals, pasta, rice and sauces, tea and coffee (also instant coffee), chocolate, hygiene products, socks, (thermal) underwear (unworn), hats and more Scarves, blankets, sleeping bags and sleeping pads, batteries and flashlights, first-aid kits (including expired ones) and candles.

Donations can be dropped off until Friday, December 1st in room A1.01 of the school on Dr.-Aloys-Wittrup-Straße in Rheinberg. Donors can expect a special surprise when they donate to the “Advent on Amplonius” school festival.
