A shooting occurred this Thursday morning in Jerusalem, leaving two dead and seven injured, according to the latest report. According to the emergency services and the Israeli police, two men opened fire around 7:40 a.m. “near a bus stop” located “at the entrance” to the city, from the west. “The two suspects involved in the shooting were neutralized on the spot,” police said in a statement.
“A 24-year-old woman” died at the scene, emergency services noted Magen David Adom (Mada), the Israeli equivalent of the Red Cross. Among the eight people transported to hospital, five of whom were “seriously” injured, one man died from his injuries, police and Mada said.
Jerusalem Police Director Doron Torgeman told reporters at the scene of the shooting that the “two terrorists [étaient] came by car and armed one with an M-16, and the other with a pistol.”

Two weeks ago, an Israeli soldier was killed and five members of the Israeli security forces injured in an attack on a checkpoint separating Jerusalem from the occupied West Bank, an attack claimed by the Ezzedine al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas. The three attackers were shot dead.
