In view of the security context, the association of customary, traditional and religious authorities of Liptako-Gourma (ACTR-LG) has made recommendations to alleviate this scourge. This involves, among other things, developing arguments to fight against all forms of violent extremism through awareness raising and preaching, insisting that government authorities make basic social services available and investing in other sectors to put populations with confidence in an approach of solidarity and accountability of States.

According to Ousmane-Amirou Dicko, President of ACTR-LG, the association aims to be a permanent framework for consultation, reflection and action for greater efficiency and impact of the customary, traditional and religious authorities of Liptako -Gourma in matters of peace, security and development alongside the Alliance of Sahel States (AES) and their technical and financial partners.

He specified that the association’s mission is to affirm the status of the customary, traditional and religious authorities of Liptako-Gourma in the national strategies and policies of social cohesion, security and development of the member states of the Alliance of Sahel States (AES).
