DISPATCH — Organized jointly by the media “Le Vent se Lève” and the “Assange Support Committee”, a conference-debate will be held in Paris on May 31: “Assange – The bad conscience of the West”.

Several public figures will join the eventincluding his wife and lawyer Stella Assange, the French humanitarian doctor Rony Brauman, the deputy LFI Arnaud Le Gall, as well as the mathematician Cédric Villani.

On the agenda for the discussions: all the questions and suspicions that the Assange case has raised for years, from the exercise of investigative journalism to the role of the United States in global governance, including freedom of expression and submission of Europe. He has been locked up in the high security prison of Belmarsh in the United Kingdom for four years, while the gendarmes of the world demand his extradition for “espionage”, and the Old Continent turns its back on him. The founder of WikiLeaks thus appears as a martyr for free journalism, human rights and concern for the truth, in the face of governments that seem all-powerful.

The conference will take place at 8 p.m. on May 31, in a location in Paris that is still kept secret. The conference will be filmed and broadcast on the social networks of the “Vent se Rève” on a delayed basis.
