On June 16 and 17, the Armenian and French national teams will play friendly matches in Los Angeles, USA.
France is the current vice-champion of Europe, and Armenia is the winner of the FIBA European Small Countries Championship.
Regarding the upcoming friendly matches, the president of the BFF, Hrachya Rostomyan, said the following. “It is a great honor for us to play a friendly match with the French national team. Armenia and France are friendly countries, which is also reflected in the basketball federations of both countries. In addition to this friendly game, the Armenian Basketball Federation also plans to implement other programs with French partners.”
The head coach of the Armenian national team, Rex Kalamyan, who is the assistant head coach of “Detroit Pistons”, also considers the game a great event. “Last year, we won the FIBA Championship of Small Countries, and in the future we want to participate in the qualifying round of the World Cup. That is why we will hold a training camp and friendly games in Los Angeles. I am thrilled that France has agreed to come and play in these 2 games, they are one of the strongest teams in the world. The Armenia-France game will be a great opportunity for Armenians living in California to attend the games and support the Armenian national team.”
