He Black Music Festival 2023 has closed today the 21st edition successfully with the Black Music Picnic. This very popular and free family event at the Midday Park from Gironahas caused a crowd of people of all ages, and we must also mention some of their pets, to gather at 12 noon to enjoy the performances of Rock for Xicsthe Black Music Big Band and the singer from Barcelona Monique Makon accompanied by theOriginal Jazz Orchestra of the Musicians’ Workshop (OJO), which has presented the show Back to Amy, the state’s first tribute to Amy Winehouse both big band Pau Marques, artistic director of the Black Music Festival, has confirmed that this activity has already become a consolidated one and that they will not hesitate to bring it again during the “many upcoming editions”. “The day was fantastic, we can thank the good time which he has done almost all day, but also to the high-level proposals that have acted”, he told us.
The closure was a reflection of theabundance and diversity of the public of this year’s Black Music Festival. As usual, the festival featured the Black Music Big Band’s own productions with the show Disco Fever accompanied by the Ensemble Jove Orquestra De Les Comarques Gironines. The concert was also a success Black Music Big Band Junior with the Black Music Choir in Corçà.
